CHILDREN'S MINISTRY:

Our Children's Ministry is designed to meet the spiritual and relational needs of children ages 5 to 12 through age-appropriate services on Sunday and Wednesday. For more information, contact Trina Willis or Pati Jones.

 


CONNECTION GROUPS:

Pastoral Care is the care that is offered by a group of leaders. The focus of pastoral care is to build relationships, to minister to the sick and shut-in to help in healing, guiding, supporting, reconciling, nurturing, liberating, and empowering  members. Connection Groups also provide opportunities for fellowship through regularly scheduled events. Congregational Pastors are as follows:

COUPLES MINISTRY:

Two of Us Couples Ministry, Ecclesiastes 4:9: Two are better than one, because they have a good return on their labor. Where two are closely joined in holy love and fellowship, Christ will by His Spirit come to them, then there is a threefold cord. Threefold cords cannot be easily broken. DANCE:

We love to praise God in the dance {Psalms 150:4). Come and join us. 

 


DEACONS:

The leaders in this ministry serve communion, conduct hospital and home visitations .  For more information, contact Elder Florie Huntley.

 


DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY:

The Discipleship Ministry helps the church fulfill the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. DRAMA MINISTRY:

Is there an actor in the house? Yes, in the Drama Ministry! The Drama Ministry performs skits, plays and spoken word presentations. For more information, contact Chris Joseph.

 


E-CLASS:

CLEAR provides a judgment free setting where people aren’t intimidated but are able to find support and freely speak their minds.  CLEAR provides an open invitation to build relationship with one another and through these relationships we create an openness that causes growth In oneself, each other and closeness to God.  For more information, contact Maria Bryant.

 


ELDERS:

The Elders provide spiritual oversight at the church and approve the annual budget and calendar. For more information, contact Elder C. A. McConnell.

 


EVANGELISM AND OUTREACH:

This ministry serves the community especially those in jails and nursing homes. 

 


 FAMILY MINISTRY:

The Family life Ministry is designed to help our member understand God's plan for the family through the Family Hour, Family Sunday and special events such as the Father-Daughter dance.

 


FIFTY PLUS:

A ministry to those age 50 and older which has ongoing activities and an annual Seniors Convention. For more information, contact Elder Florie Huntley.

 


FRED'S FUND:

Our benevolence ministry which helps people in crisis, providing financial and material assistance as indicated. For more information, contact Judi Ellis.

 


GREETERS MINISTRY:

Our Greeters receive great joy by helping all who visit FCOG to feel welcome. For more information, contact Brenda Watkins.

 


HOSPITALITY MINISTRY:

The Hospitality Ministry is responsible for preparing and serving food during special occasions such as funerals. For more information, contact Barbara Salmond.

 


LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT:

 MANAGERS:

MEDIA MINISTRY:

Lights, Camera, Action! The Media Ministry is responsible for the sound, audio­ visual services and reproduction and sales of CD's and DVD's. For more information, contact Louis Newsom.

 


 MOVE-{Men Of Vision Empowered):

lt is our goal to continue with increasing the quality of life and relationships among the men of First Church of God by a) fostering accountability among men, b) increasing community involvement and service, c) fellowshipping with other men ministries, d) building stronger relationships with our young men and boys and e) promoting total health among males, spiritually, physically, mental/emotionally, relationally and financially. MUSIC MINISTRY:

First Church of God has an exceptional music ministry with first class musicians and singers of almost every age and style. PRIME CONNECTION:

SAVED TO SERVE:

Our goal is to minister to the physical needs of the sick and shut-in, Seniors and families. To support families at Thanksgiving and Christmas. S.T.A.R.S (Sisters Touching and Raising the Standard):

Women' s Ministries centered on the Lordship of Jesus Christ, endeavors to provide a place of accountability, guidance, mentoring, spiritual development and relationship building. Striving to build bridges for women that connect social-economic, educational, and cultural distinctions, as well as serve needs in the congregation, local/national community and abroad.
