Biography of First Lady Dr. Maggie L. Culp

Maggie L. Culp, First Lady of First Church of God, began her physical life, on August 4, 1936, in Goodview, VA. She was dedicated to God by her parents on that day and thus began a lifetime relationship with Him. She experienced many adventures along the way which prepared her for such a time as this.

Next to her own spiritual conversion in her early teen years meeting a saved, handsome and focused young man on the college campus of Anderson University, Anderson, IN and marrying him-was the pivotal point in her life.

Upon moving to Toledo, Ohio, after a four year pastorate in Danville, Illinois, Sis. Maggie went on to earn her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education from the University of Toledo in 1975 and 1978 through the Teacher Corp Initiative.  She subsequently taught several years for the Toledo Public Schools before becoming Principal of the First Church of God Chris tian School for 20 years. Sis. Maggie ended her career as Principal of The Academy of Business & Technology Charter School.  Her career spanned more than 30 years in the field of Education.  As a result of her commendable work for FCOG Christian School, the Honorary Doctorate Degree was bestowed upon her, in 1995 by the Southern California School of Ministry of Los Angeles, California.

During her 50 years of service at First Church of God she served in various ministries, such as Sunday School Teacher, SS Superintendent, Missionary Society President, Vacation Bible School Coordinator, Member of the Educational Board, Prayer Intercessor, and Pastor's Core Team.  For years Sis. Culp was the church organist which was perhaps her proudest contribution.

Sis. Culp has been married to her Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Culp for 53 % years and they are the proud parents of 4 adult children and 4 grandchildren.

The perpetual blessings in her life nowadays are her children and "grands", and seeing or hear ing from the many "now grown" students who tell her how their lives were spiritually influenced by her ministry at FCOG Christian School.  Seeds were planted that will bear fruit forever.  REMEMBER: "Only what you do for Christ will last." All PRAISE belongs to God! I thank Him for ordering our steps.
